Diane Lamas Liver transplant
Donation protected
In the late Spring of 2020, at nearly a pandemic full swing of quarantining and stress, my mother was diagnosed with NAC (Non-Alcoholic Cirrhosis of the Liver) due to a fatty liver. Unsure of what this diagnosis truly meant, we began a journey of endless research and understanding about this unyielding disease. As time went on, mom became worse from lack of sleep, extreme fatigue, weakness, and bouts of incoherency. Facing the reality of such a diagnosis made her come to a screeching halt in all aspects of life. My mom is a seamstress, a florist, a christian literature writer, and an amazing cook but there is nothing that my mother loves more than LOVING her family. She is truly the MOST creative being that I have ever known. Mom has been an advocate for every single one of us, me, her daughter, her granddaughter, my father, and a mother in law who has just turned 95 years of age. She would fight to her last breath for us, and the deep love she has for all of her nieces and nephews both great and grand. She IS a fighter! She is a WARRIOR! She IS the best!
In recent days, we are making frequent trips and lengthy stays at St. Lukes Hospital in the Houston medical center, and gas, food, and lodging in this area is not at all cheap.
TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! This last hurdle must be completed before being placed on the transplant list for a new liver. The total financial out of pocket, is 6,700.00 and must be paid before being placed on the list. We are asking for 15,000 to cover the cost of the surgery , not paid by insurance and living exspenses while we care for her.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
