Diane Mason, Pancreatic Cancer

Hello everyone, my name is Jess Cox :) as you would know, im am Dianes closest friend.

Im going to try cut this story short as i can.

Going back about 6 months ago Diane attended brokenhill hospital with a a pain going down the back of her leg, she was told she had pulled a muscle and to go home to rest, a month or so went by and shes gone back to the hospital for them to say she has a sciatic nerve problem, again they said to go home have some pain relief and rest.. another couple months has gone by and shes gone to get a second opinion from another medical practice. Straight away they mentioned a sciatic nerve shouldnt be lasting as long as she had been dealing with the pain, they did a CT lumbar scan and within 24 hours * 7th February 2023* the doctor called Diane in for an emergency appointment to inform Diane that sadly she is suffering a condition called "pancreas cancer" witch has now spread to further places such as her tail bone, liver, and pelvis.

The cancer is fairly aggressive, it has now eaten 1/4 of her tail bone, its now inside her liver and is also starting to eat away at her pelvis.. Doctors have confirmed that its inoperable because the cancers are too close to her spinal cord witch is now leaving Diane with terminal illness and unfortunately she is now wheelchair bound.

Diane, her partner Shane Pollard & two boys Mason *13* & Tyler *10* currently are living in brokenhill but considering Dianes cancer is aggressive she will need to be travelling back and foward from NSW to SA every 2 weeks for a blocker injection to try stop the cancer spreading more then it already has. Doctors have obviously advised Diane and her family to relocate but as you all know housing is such a struggle at this time so finding a house or even accommodation is a struggle. The last thing she should be worrying about is how to fund travel and accommodation expenses. Shane is still continuing to work as it is their only source of income at the moment but shouldn't he be there supporting his family as much as he can? This is also added stress on to this poor family that is already going through hell.

Diane is awaiting to hear back about when she starts radiation and chemotherapy together, again she has to be here in Adelaide for radiation as its only for people in metropolitan areas.

The back and forward trips are really starting to put extra stress on this poor family that they really dont need at this time. The last thing they should be worrying about is how to get money for the next trip letter loan accommodation.

I know money is hard for everyone but ever cent counts even if its $1, it all adds up. Your dollar could be the dollar that gets this poor girl to her next appointment!

If you know Diane you know shes always the first person to put her hand up to help with ANYTHING weather it baby sitting, driving around, feeding you for the week even accommodation... her door is always open to anyone in need so this is the time that everyone needs to give back to the girl that has always given!

UPDATE; Sadly dianes new results show that dianes cancer has spread throughout her body now, from her neck to her vagina.
