Diane Osborne needs help

My name is Katharine Kit Kerr. My friend and fellow SF and F fan, Diane Osborne, has had some spectacularly bad luck lately. An auto accident has left her with permanent back pain and a variety of other chronic problems, so severe that she can't find a job. Over the years Diane has helped not just me, but a whole raft of people when we needed it.

So far she's not been able to apply for any kind of disability aid. I'm hoping that we can give her a breathing space until we find an ongoing solution. She has rent to pay, she has to eat, and of course, she needs meds and medical help. I figure the amount we're asking will be enough for three or four months and at the least get her through the holidays. When you're down and out, the holidays are particularly depressing.
