Diane's friend Patty and I are hoping you can help Diane out! Patty wrote the following to share Diane's story!
Let me tell you about my best friend. Diane Vaden Bratcher is her name. We met about 40 years ago. We were both working 2nd jobs, just to make ends meet.
Diane worked her way through nurses training. She made RN status!
Being the type of person she is, this was a perfect career. She worked 20 years. 18 of those years in the ICU unit at St. Edwards Hospital. That in my eyes takes a very strong and caring person. She touched so many lives with her care, in the hospital and out.
In 2000, she was diagnosed with a rare type of uterine sarcoma. She was given a prognosis of 3-4 months to live. Her cancer Doctor told her the only chance she had, was MD Anderson, in Houston, for experimental treatment. With Gods hand and the Doctors training, she is still with us.
Diane has had to travel to Houston MANY times each year. She is not hospitalized when she goes for scans or treatment. this means she and Larry are responsible for all lodging, fuel and food. They are always there at least a week, or longer. So you can see how the bills would mount up in a hurry.
Throughout the years the cancer has returned 4 different time. When she was diagnosed with Liver cancer in 2009, she was forced to retire on disability, which reduced her income to 40%. She is not able to get a Medicare supplement policy in the state of Arkansas until she is retirement age. That means she is responsible for 20% of all charges.
NOW it is her turn to need our help! She needs help with medical care, prescriptions, lodging and fuel.
The uterine sarcoma returned this past spring. Surgery was preformed. When she returned for scans, it showed up in various other areas of her body. She is undergoing Chemo now.
That is why she needs your monetary support NOW!
