Diane's Health Journey
Donation protected
Our mom has always given fully to family, friends, work, and community throughout her life. We would like to ask for your assistance and support at this time, as she faces financial and health challenges created from this past year's journey.
From the beginning:
Diane's primary health challenges began a little over a year ago, shortly after participating in a triathlon and visiting family in northern Wisconsin. Diane had been working several part-time jobs gardening, teaching and helping others as a stress management specialist. She began seeking medical attention when she became extremely fatigued (sleeping 20 out of 24 hours), with her joints stiffening and becoming painful, limiting movement and the ability to work. In May of 2016, she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and was challenged with multiple physical challenges as time continued including: kidney issues, an enlarged spleen, collapsed lower lungs in October, and high fever with 5 liters of inflammation around her heart this past March which nearly took her life. She was hospitalized in ICU for a necessary heart procedure and was diagnosed with systemic lupus. Diane lost 60 pounds of muscle mass and had lost her muscle memory to enable her to walk, breathe properly, and move. Following the hospital stay, she spent a month in a rehabilitation facility to regain strength, and learn how to walk and move again through daily PT and OT sessions.
Challenges and goals:
Day by day, step by step, Diane is slowly beginning to regain some strength and learn how to better balance her health with activity that does not create flares or further physical harm. She is challenged by multiple medication side-effects and continues to seek support with integrative medicine; bringing together western and eastern practices of healing at all levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Through the assistance of a team of doctors, chiropractic, acupuncture and others, she would like to further explore root causes such as the possibility of lymes, heavy metals, or environmental toxins that have impacted her overall health condition at a cellular level. She remains positive and it is her goal to become the hope and inspiration for others as they move through similar life challenges.
Our request:
Diane is learning how to ask and receive with her new experiences and we are asking for her that you consider a donation of what you can financially or otherwise provide with $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can provide; even if it is a prayer or sharing this message with others to assist with overwhelming expenses in continuing to move forward on her journey with her health challenges.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of giving.
Much Love & Blessings,
The family of Diane McKee
