Dianna’s Cancer Battle: Our Turn To Help and Give Hope

In September 2024, our big sister, Dianna, a 40-year-old dynamo who's always been the one offering help to others, received a devastating diagnosis - a rare and aggressive cancer - an undifferentiated liposarcoma tumor. This news shattered the life of a woman who, born in the Philippines, had carved out a remarkable path for herself. From putting herself through the University of Hawaii and the University of Arizona, to building a successful non-profit career in San Francisco, Dianna's entrepreneurial spirit led her to launch Hesper, a sustainable spirits and wellness company, as well as Z'est La Vie, her Marketing & Events Consulting firm. 

As a single mom trying to juggle it all, her drive and focus always revolves around her 11-year-old daughter, Sophia, the "light and joy of her life."

 

The aggressive nature of her cancer, coupled with the uncertainty surrounding treatment responses, forced Dianna to undergo urgent surgery to remove the fast-growing tumor, intense rounds of chemotherapy and currently prepare for radiation, sidelining her thriving businesses. The financial burden is immense, with medical and personal bills adding up... combined with the stress of maintaining her self-employed income while facing physical, mental and emotional pain and exhaustion has been overwhelming. 

But, true to Dianna's nature of dedication and hard work, she even took calls with her non-profit clients while getting chemo infusions to ensure nothing lapsed despite her cancer.
