Please help Dianne Zallar get back on her feet

Hi, my name is McKenzie Braaten for those who don’t know me and I am creating this fundraiser for my nana Dianne Zallar. My papa (Mike Zallar) is currently in the hospital at Essentia Health Northern Pines fighting for his life. We were told this morning that even though they have tried all they could to save his life, ultimately his kidneys failed and they are unable to transfer him due to lack of beds and the condition he is in. Which we, as a family, are completely understanding of the bed shortage all across the nation right now. We also understand there are people, much younger also fighting for their life and could have a better chance of surviving than my papa.

As we try to process what’s happening, I know my Nana is worried about how she will continue to live in the house that her and my papa shared for 50+ years. She’s shattered because she will be going home without her lifelong husband, but also scared as to how she will be able to get by on her own. If anyone knows my Nana and papa at all they know that they are natives of Biwabik, MN. My Papa (Mike) was a well known barber who had a location on the Main Street of biwabik and another location in hoyt lakes. For years, he grew friendships and bonds with people all over the iron range. My Nana (Dianne) has worked for Patrick Harringtons office in Biwabik filing taxes since I can remember. She too, with her warm smile and welcoming personality, has made a great impact on numerous people because of the amazing woman she is. She is the true rock in our family and is the strongest woman I know.

I am not one to ever ask anyone for help, especially reaching out to our community, but watching my Nana lose her husband of 50+ years and not knowing where to go from here is heartbreaking and there arent words to explain the pain. She has given so much to this world and I’m praying the world will help get her back on her feet to help her stress during this time.

She would never in a million years let me do this because she also never ever asks for help, but if you are able to donate anything at all or even share this post, comment or spread love and kind words it would mean the world to our family ❤️
