Diaspirits
Diaspirits is dedicated to returning the story of spirits back to the cultures and peoples who created them.

In the wine and spirits industry most importers, distributors, brands, and bars are white-owned, and have been for centuries. And the history of spirits has been written by the same colonial forces that helped establish the generational wealth that built these businesses.
As a result, the beauty and brutality that coats the history of spirits is often written out. The Black and Brown people who experienced the oppression that led to the creation of spirits should be the authors and storytellers of that history.
Diaspirits was created to return those stories back to the people and cultures who created them.
Crowd-sourcing our start-up fund is the simplest way for Diaspirits to remain as anti-capitalist as possible, and make up for the lack of generational wealth that other companies used to establish themselves. These funds will not only help us found the company, but to build out ethical supply chains that will create jobs that pay a living wage, and encourage producers to own their brands and share company profits with their own organizations.
Our BIPOC owned import company will focus on:
Responsible and ethical supply chain practices
Profit sharing with suppliers and farmers
Original content that amplifies and re-tells the cultural context of spirits
Empower suppliers to build and own their own brands
Decolonize spirits education and how they’re enjoyed
Market representation that reflects the places our spirits are from
Our culture. Our history. Our spirits. Our voices.
We bout to turn up on this industry.
