Diaz family ALS Battle
Donation protected
Hi my name is Maria Diaz.My husband Joaquin was diagnosed with ALS (Amiotrofic Lateral Esclerosis)in November 2018. This is a family’s worst nightmare as it has no cure.
As the disease has been progressing his health has rapidly declined to the point where he requires my full time care. This is an extremely difficult situation because I have 3 kids of which 2 are very young to understand what is going on. My oldest son is currently attending college but has taken the role of being their caretaker and also working full time while I am away at the facility with their dad. My two other little ones are 11 and 4 years old.
Whoever knows Joaquin knows that he is a very hardworking, humble man and the best dad I could have given my kids also an amazing husband a friend who would not hesitate to lend a hand. Always working multiple jobs two at a time to make sure our family was well supported. He always had a great sense of humor and made everyone’s day. I cannot say enough about the amazing human being he is. I have spent almost 26 years with this wonderful man and my greatest fear is to lose hi. I see his suffering each day but also see his love for life and his effort to keep fighting because that’s the kind of man he is.
The intent of this fundraiser is to help cover expenses for medical equipment that the insurance won’t cover. Also, as a result of being my husband’s sole caretaker I am unable to work. Any donation would also help cover some of the daily living expenses because my 21 year old is the only one working and we don’t get any assistance. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart and any donation makes a big difference for us. God Bless each and every person who helps us.
