Diefenbakers operation and future care

I really don’t even know where to begin.
I’m a military veteran spent years travelling around the world getting shot at. So long story short is after years of action and picking up friends and civilians who had been killed or injured in combat I ended up with PTSD which is a killer. You feel alone, depressed, empty and most of the time want the pain to stop hurting inside your head. So to keep me on track I got Diefenbaker my hybrid wolf about 10 years ago now. He is my main support system and has saved me more than a few times over the years.
A few weeks ago, Claire noticed a lump on Diefenbaker’s leg. We got him to the vet the next day, had a long discussion, and a small sample was taken. That came back inconclusive, so we moved forward with a biopsy under sedation.
With Easter and all the bank holidays, it took longer than we hoped to get results—but yesterday we finally did. Dief has been diagnosed with soft-tissue sarcoma. Cancer.
We’re heartbroken. The road ahead isn’t going to be easy. Surgery is likely the next step, but we’ll need to travel to a specialist, and right now, the costs are still a big unknown.
If Dief has ever made you smile—even once—please consider helping us. We appreciate anything you can give, and even more than that, your support means the world right now.
