Diego Bonilla Memorial Services

Diego Fernando Bonilla Corradine, 64, tragically lost his life in the sea of Nicaragua after being dragged by an ocean current. 

 

Diego was staying with some friends from Nandaime, in a hotel near Popoyo beach, located in the municipality of Tola, department of Rivas, southern Nicaragua. 

 

On October 8 at around 4:00 in the afternoon Diego had decided to go for a walk along the seashore and a sudden wave swept him away. By the time he was rescued and pulled ashore, he had already passed.

 

Diego's body has been taken to a local morgue for an autopsy to confirm the official cause of his death. His wife, Johanna and daughter, Erica are expected to arrive this week and are in need of donations to cover the cost of travel expenses to and from Nicaragua and in order to properly handle funeral procedures and send his remains back to Colombia to rest next to his father Carlos Augusto Bonilla Aguilar.

We know how much his friends and family will miss Diego dearly, he was the life of the party, a kind friend, a loving family member, a talented musician-- the list goes on. Our family sends out love to all who have been affected by this horrible tragedy. Losing a cherished loved one is difficult, any donation will help tremendously. 

Diego Fernando Bonilla Corradine, de 64 años, perdió la vida en el mar de Nicaragua tras ser arrastrado por una corriente marina.

Diego se hospedaba con unos amigos de Nandaime, municipio de Granada, en un hotel cercano a la playa Popoyo, ubicada en el municipio de Tola, departamento de Rivas, al sur de Nicaragua.

 El hecho ocurrió el pasado 8 de octubre alrededor de las 4:00 de la tarde Diego decidió salir a caminar a la orilla del mar cuando una ola se lo arrastró.

A la hora del rescató, lo arrastraron a tierra y se le intentó hacer primeros auxilios, pero el ya había fallecido.

 El cuerpo de Diego ha sido llevado a una morgue local para que se le realice una autopsia que confirme la causa oficial de su muerte. Su esposa Johanna e hija Erica llegan esta semana y necesitan donaciones para cubrir los gastos de viaje hacia y desde Nicaragua y para poder manejar adecuadamente los procedimientos funerarios y repatriar sus restos a Colombia para que descanse al lado de su padre Carlos Augusto Bonilla Aguilar.

Sabemos cuánto los amigos y familiares extrañarán muchísimo a Diego, él fue el alma de la fiesta, un amigo fiel, un familiar cariñoso, un músico talentoso... y la lista continúa. Nuestra familia le envía amor a todos los afectados por esta horrible tragedia. Perder a un ser querido es difícil, cualquier donación será de gran ayuda.
