Diego’s fight against cancer

Hi, my name is Elva. I’m mother to a amazing, strong little guy named Diego! Here’s alittle backstory to Diego’s fight against cancer.

Diego was diagnosed with Leukemia in May 2022. No parent ever wants to hear the words “ your child has cancer”. His diagnosis was so unexpected and was very scary for the whole family.

He was having extreme shoulder pain which led us to have him checked out in the ER. Blood work came back abnormal so he was transferred to Rady Childrens Hospital for further testing. It was there where he was diagnosed with B cell Acute lymphoblastic Leukemia(B-ALL)

He underwent surgery to have his port inserted into his chest and immediately started chemotherapy.

Diego is 8 years old. Very laid back, quite and shy. But once he opens up, he is so loving and funny! He loves reading Dogman chapter books, playing video games and watching Mr. Beast and FGTV on YouTube. All good indoor activities as he has to stay home away from crowds to avoid Covid and everything else that’s going around these days.

Please keep Diego in prayer. He still has along way to go. His cancer treatment will be anywhere from 2-3 years. He is our strong little warrior, taking everything as it comes with a great attitude. We trust that God will guide Diego into a full recovery because “God is Good” Palms 145:9

Diego fue diagnosticado con Leucemia en Mayo 2022. Ningún padre jamás quiere escuchar las palabras “tú hijo tiene cancer”.

Su diagnóstico fue in esperable. El demostraba un dolor muy fuerte en los hombros que lo llevamos a la sala de emergencia. Los exámenes de sangre mostraron abnormalidades y Diego fue transferido a Rady Childrens Hospital para más exámenes. Fue allí donde confirmaron que Diego tiene Leucemia.

Tuvo una cirugía para insertarle el aparato y comenso con la Chemo terapia inmediatamente.

Diego tiene 8 añitos. Es un poco serio y tímido, pero cuando entra en confianza es muy cariñoso y chistosito! Le encanta leer libros de Dogman, jugar video juegos y ver videos de Mr. Beast y FGTV en YouTube. Durante este tiempo es importante que se quede en casa lejos de gente para no contraer Covid.

Por favor mantengan a Diego en sus oraciones. Aun tiene my buen tramo que recorrer. Su tratamiento puede ser de 2 a 3 años. El se a mantenido con buen ánimo a pesar de las circunstancias. Es nuestro guerrero e inspiración. Confiamos que Dios le brindara a Diego una su salud completamente. Dios es Bueno! Salmos 145:9
