Digital Tip Jar for Grocery Workers

Hello,

I am Adam. I live in and love Los Angeles For the last 7 years I have been helping people transition out of homelessness and incarceration back into the workforce. I like helping people.  There are lot of people that could use some help right now. How about those workers operating the cash registers or stocking the shelves at your local grocery store? Have you ever wondered why they don’t have tip jar? They have a pretty tough job, especially right now.

Grocery store workers are providing an indispensable service to their communities at the risk of their own personal health. They should be recognized for the positive impact they are providing to our neighborhoods. Even though their work is essential they often receive low wages and few benefits. Let’s come together as a community and show our support and appreciation for their hard work and dedication. 

My goal is to raise at least $20,000 and distribute it to those working in typically low wage jobs at grocery stores, gas stations, and convenience stores. We all need to come together (metaphorically, definitely not physically) during these trying times. Let’s help lift some people up that are working hard for our benefit. Any amount helps!

I will distribute funds to those community members working hourly positions in grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacy’s, and convenience  stores. I will distribute $200 a person, on a first come first serve basis, until the fund runs out of money. 100% of proceeds will go to workers. I will ask for a paystub that shows employment within the last month (2/21/20) and a photo ID to verify.  I am hoping to help at least 100 people.
