Dillon Reeves our Hero Prevents school bus crash
Donation protected
Because of the many requests we received from individuals who wanted to create a GoFundMe page for our son, those who asked if there was a GoFundMe page for him, and others who have been sending money for him to our cash app, we created this page for all of the wonderful people near and far who have been touched by Dillon’s actions on his school bus on April 26, 2023.
All funds donated here will go directly into a trust in Dillon’s name and cannot be touched for anything other than his future education. Since Dillon wants to be a police or firefighter when he grows up, I contacted the Fire Commissioner in our city of Warren, Michigan, who told me that the cost to attend the Fire Academy is approximately $20,000 plus 60 credit hours of Fire Science to move up in the Fire Department. That is how the $40,000 goal was determined.
On behalf of Dillon and our entire family, thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for the incredible outpouring of kindness and generosity.
Hi, my name is Steve Reeves, Dillon Reeves’ father.
In Warren, Michigan, on April 26, 2023, my son Dillon prevented a school bus from crashing when the driver lost consciousness. Thanks to Dillon’s quick thinking, paying attention, and automatic response, he calmly went to the front of the bus, grabbed the steering wheel, and gently put his foot on the brake pedal, bringing the bus to a safe stop. Without hesitation, Dillon then directed someone to call 911. He is pretty remarkable for a 13-year-old boy.
Since he was young, Dillon has always had an interest in being a police officer or a firefighter. He has watched first responders on YouTube and TV, intrigued with saving lives.
He is your average 13-year-old boy that plays on an ice hockey team and a roller hockey team. Dillon is also a member of the Carter Middle School band where he plays percussion. Dillon also enjoys playing drums at home in his spare time. He also enjoys drawing and painting.
We would like to thank everyone worldwide for your kind remarks and encouragement. Many people from all over the world have contacted us inquiring if and how they can give donations to “the hero”.
Due to the many offers of donations toward his college fund, firefighter academy, public safety academy or just Dillon’s general education, our family decided to organize this GoFundMe to help our true hero who would like to continue to make a difference in our world.
We couldn’t be more proud.
