Dillon's fight for Recovery

Hello All, I don't usually put my personal life on Social Media but given the circumstances, I find it necessary to reach out for all of the support my children and I  can get. This has been a very difficult year for everyone and my family is no exception, so I am just going to put the whole story out here.
  My son Dillon is currently going through a divorce and came back to home to be with his family during this difficult time. Since he left the family dog with his (soon to be) ex-wife, he decided another puppy would be a nice addition, so he found someone in Arizona with the one he wanted. He waited for 6 weeks then planned his Trip to go pick up the puppy. 
On Monday night, July 7th, he flew to Phoenix, was to pick up the puppy on Tuesday and fly back home on Wednesday. However, a couple of hours after he got to the hotel, he was shot and robbed in the hotel parking lot by 6 individuals. (race will not be disclosed, and had nothing to do with the puppy)  The bullet went in his upper left thigh, hit the top of his Femur and went up and shattered his hip. He was finally rushed to the hospital where the Orthopedic surgeon was able to put his hip back together with ALOT of hardware. After spending 7 days in the hospital, where he also tested positive for COVID-19, they were unable to get him into an Acute Rehab facility, so i decided  fly to Phoenix, rent a wheelchair accessible mini van, get him discharged from the hospital and made the journey back home with my son in a wheelchair AND the puppy. It took us 4 days to get home. 
Dillon has been doing quite a bit better since we got home.  There will be quite a bit of physical and mental healing for him to do, as well as a long road of physical therapy to get back to walking normal. So far, his medical bills have gotten to be over $50,000 and I am expecting for that number to go up when he is able to start his physical therapy. Luckily i have really good insurance for him so i will only have to pay a portion of that. I'm still waiting for the medical bills to start coming in. 
There is an ongoing investigation and we have been working closely with the Detectives assigned to this case, trying to get all involved identified and arrested. I do know that they have executed some search warrants and made some arrests. Including one minor who will be tried as an adult. I will continue to monitor this closely and update you with any new information. I am still not sure if we will need to obtain a lawyer for all of this either.
We just want justice and a speedy recovery for Dillon. This was a senseless act that no one should have to go through for a stolen cell phone, as that is all he had on him. 
All of this is very overwhelming and is going to be a lot of work, but I have faith that Dillon will get through this. We all will. So, I am asking for all of my friends and family to come together with us to help support him on this journey. Any and all help is so greatly appreciated.
