Dr. Oladimeji Ogundipe is a 35yr old Nigerian doctor and a 2010 graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University Medical School Ile-Ife. He was diagnosed with sickle cell anaemia at the age of 3 and more recently was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma( a cancer of white cells) and will require Bone Marrow Transplant which will be curative of both the Sickle Cell Anaemia and the Hodgkins Lymphoma.
He is presently in Nigeria and $65,000(£52000) has been estimated as the total cost of treatment being sought abroad.
Dimeji is a brilliant and courageous young man who has been able to weather the storms and challenges arising from his health condition fairly well.
He was able to withstand the rigors of medical school and bagged his medical degree from OAU without any hitch.He continued in this stead and joined the Pathology Residency program of LUTH until he had to resign about a year ago due to overwhelming health challenges.
Prior to this, he had managed quite well until about10 years ago when he first had a complication leading to damage of his hip joint.
Thereafter, he developed a non healing leg ulcer about 4 years ago and required surgeries for skin grafting.
He has personally and with the help of his family surmounted all his previous health challenges however this present predicament is one too big to handle alone. However with God on his side and your support we believe we can.
