Dina Supporting Kids in Israel Through Literature
Donation protected
Our dear friend, Dina Berdnikov, has been running an amazing online children's reading club called "BUKUTOKU " for a while now. During the pandemic, they provided valuable support to families and read to Ukrainian refugees and children in Ukrainian children's homes across Eastern Europe.
Since October 9, just two days after the horrible attack on Israel, Dina has organized daily reading sessions for Russian-speaking Israeli children aged 3-14, all free of charge. Currently, kids from over 600 families can connect with their peers, discuss literature, and share their thoughts, fears, and happy moments all from the safety of their homes.
Some excerpts from Dina’s discussions:
Many Israeli children cannot attend school in person, constantly seeking refuge in bomb shelters and lacking the opportunity to interact with their friends safely. Dina's readings and discussions have become the highlight of these children's days, and their parents wholeheartedly appreciate it.
Dina has been working tirelessly, sacrificing her time with her own family, job, and other responsibilities to provide much-needed distraction and support to Israeli families. We would love to raise funds to express our gratitude to Dina for her dedication to this important cause.
