Final Expenses: Samantha "Sammi" Catrine Gregory
Donation protected
I hope this message finds each of you well. My name is Sheena (Gregory) LaMar. I come to you, in a time of great sorrow and need. On January 3rd, my little sister, Samantha Catrine Gregory, passed away unexpectedly at 35 years old. We have since learned she passed due to multiple organ failures brought on by liver failure. She died despite the life saving efforts of her boyfriend, Kean, our mother, Monica and first responders. Sammi died with her mother, step-dad and boyfriend nearby. Although she'd sought medical attention on numerous occasions over the last year, her illness was recurring and evolving and took her far too soon in the end.
She was the youngest of 4 children, David 44, Chris 40, Sheena 37, and Sammi, a mere 3 days shy of 36.
We have many beautiful, cherished moments which are holding exceptionally close right now. However, there are unsavory aspects which must be dealt with as well. Left behind is a trail of immense grief, as well as,the unfortunate burden of financial strain to cover her final expenses.
Sammi had SO much yet to do, places to see, strangers to befriend, hugs to give, art to create, life to live and love to give.
She was a devoted mother to her identical twin girls, Elenore and Gwindolyn 8 y.o. as well as her cat, Kinny. She was a cherished sister, aunt, friend, neice and daughter. Sams daughters were the absolute light of her life and her earthly purpose. She would strive everyday to be the mother they deserved and loved them with every ounce of her being. She believed in the magic of art and stories. Coloring, drawing, painting- life was her canvas and she was an artist. As different as her girls are, she'd embrace their individuality and encouraged their pursuits to find their passions. To her neices, nephews, and much of our family, she was Nanni. Over a decade ago, my eldest could not quite say Sammi, but he could say 'Nanni' and it stuck. She was a fantastic aunt and a vital pillar in my "village" and our family. She truly loved her nephews & neices: Gavin, Zander, Riley, Ronan, Gideon, Juliette, Welles, Ruby & Vera. To say we all miss her is woefully inadequate. Growing up, we didn't have cousins, so this was a dream come true for us to raise kids concurrently!
If you ask my mom about her youngest child, she could tell you she was a wild card. Her personality was colorful and friendly. She had a spirit often envied. A thirst for adventure and zest for life that some can only dream of. Her absence has left an immense, dark void where her light used to shine. We are reminded every day of the love, light, loyalty and compassion she radiated. Her ability to be positive and empathetic was beautiful.
As we navigate this difficult time, we find ourselves facing unexpected financial burdens. Sammi did not have any life insurance, and the costs associated with her passing, including the obituary, funeral home fees, memorial arrangements, and more, are overwhelming. We are humbly asking for your help and support during this challenging period.
We are seeking assistance to cover the necessary expenses related to Sammi's passing. In addition to immediate costs, we are exploring ways to honor her memory and create lasting tributes for her daughters and loved ones. These endeavors, while deeply meaningful, come with their own financial implications that we are unprepared to meet on our own.
Your contribution, no matter the amount, would be immensely appreciated. Whether through a donation to help with immediate expenses or a gesture of kindness and support, we appreciate you all during this trying time.
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, sympathy and support we have received from our community of friends and family. Your support, in whatever form it takes, means the world to us. Thank you for listening and for being a source of comfort and compassion as we navigate this dreadful time.
With heartfelt thanks,
Sheena & the rest of Sammi's Family
