Dion Lefler, a longtime reporter at The Wichita Eagle, was having a hard time writing a story last week. He went to the hospital and scans revealed a brain abscess caused by a staph infection. Dion underwent surgery on Feb. 2, and is now recovering in the ICU.

We'd like to chip in to help make things a little bit easier for him and his wife, Kathy, while he recovers. The money will go toward whatever they see fit: food expenses, medical bills, etc. 

We will post updates as they become available and as the they feel the need to share them. Dion is always the first to always lend a helping hand to those in need, whether through volunteer work, church, or to strangers, so let's help him out.
