Dionne Jefferson-Moore Mem., Schlr
Donation protected
This scholarship fund is created in memory of our beloved Dionne Jefferson-Moore of Clifton Forge, Va.
Dionne attended Alleghany High School, where she was an avid volleyball and basketball player, as well as an exemplary student. After high school, Dionne attended Virginia Union University in Richmond, Va. She later married, becoming a devoted wife, mother of four and a grandmother of two.
Dionne was employed as an Administration Assistant for Covington High School. She was a member of the Concerned Christians Baptist Church where she served on the usher board and hospitality committee.
One Friday night, while cheering the CHS football team on to victory during their first round playoff game, Dionne experienced a brain aneurysm. There's no doubt in any of our minds that she gave it a good fight.
On November 15, 2014, our dearly loved Dionne passed away at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va.
Dionne was known in the community for her generosity, friendship, dedication to her loved ones, and of course, her infectious smile. Dionne was one of CHS's biggest fans and supporters.
In honor of Dionne's memory, her love for sports, the school, its students and staff, we would like to recognize these same qualities in one or two CHS students, as well as provide financial assistance towards that student's continued education.
We are attempting to raise more than $1000 with the hope that enough money could possibly be award to two Covington High School students who display leadership, exemplary character, involvement in community service, and who are dedicated to academics and to athletics.
More specifics regarding the scholarship qualifications for students are forthcoming.
The deadline for donations are due February 1st, 2016. If in the event the deadline is extended, a notification will be made on Facebook, and an update will be posted on this GoFundMe page by Mia Mack Martin.
Please note that these funds are not exempt charities, so donations will not be tax deductible.
If you do not wish to make your donation via this website, please feel free to give your donation to her husband, Keith Moore, their children, Meagan Jefferson, Morgan Jefferson, Sa'Mone Moore, or Keith Moore Jr.
Donations can also be made to the following teachers and staff at Covington High School:
Kim Jefferson, Heather Baker and Jessica Fauber.
We, the family and friends of Dionne Jefferson-Moore, would like to express our sincere gratitude for the love and support that you all have blessed us with since our tragic lost.
We would also like to thank you in advance for any and all donations in helping to keep Dionne's memory alive. It is our intention to make this an annual memorial scholarship for the students at Covington High School.
