Dirk Nicholson Emergency Services Volunteer

Hi, my name is Sam I am fundraising for my mate and fellow Emergency Services brother Dirk Nicholson, sometime overnight Friday 27/1 -Saturday 28/1 had his car broken into in the Port Noarlunga area of Adelaide. how the thieves got in we are unsure as the car was locked and the glass has not been broken, also the vehicle has a dash cam that operates 24/7 but somehow mysteriously didn't record anything from 3 am until he checked the camera at 10:30 am.
Stolen from the vehicle was his gear bag with his uniform and items used for the various forms of rescue including leatherman rescue scissors police grade torches that he purchased when he was a member of the police. also taken from the vehicle was a pelican-style case with tool kits, first aid kits and other various items he would use in an emergency if he ever came upon someone in need.
The approximate value of all the items he can think of is around $5000, unfortunately, his insurance does not cover any of the items taken so it is going to take a long time to replace the equipment, not to mention he can't respond to any emergency callouts at this time as it will take some time to order in replacement uniform just to begin with.
To make matters worse Dirk has recently finished paid employment with his contract ending and with no new contract in sight in the near future he is surviving on what little savings he has.
Dirk is generally a private and proud person and would not ask for help in this situation which is why I am, he has been there for me in tough times and I only want to repay his kindness.
Dirk's only goal in life has been to serve the community and he has done this by serving as a police officer, and as an Emergency Services volunteer.
So it is now that I ask the community to give what they can to assist this dedicated volunteer to take the pressure off and replace some of the gear that some low-life scum stole from him.
Included here is a link to a post by his local Emergency Services unit.
