Hi, This is Anthony. Many of you have been asking how to help Dirk and Gail and whether or not there would be something like this. So I've started this to help with that. Over the course of the past several months, endless tests, and many hospitalizations, Dirk was finally diagnosed with Nonalcoholic Liver Disease, and is now in end stage liver failure. Because of the severity of the progression of his disease, a liver transplant is the only option for a full recovery of this disease. During the testing for candidacy to receive a new liver, Dirk encountered seizures and a head injury. Because of the combination of these two things, Dirk is currently ventilator dependent and his liver treatments and work ups have been put on hold. His extensive hospitalization has prevented him and Gail from working full-time, and we as their friends and family are asking for the community to lift them up in prayer and send them any help financially to make up for the complete loss of Dirk’s income and the decrease in Gail’s income as she is now on unpaid leave from the school system to help care for Dirk. Please pray specifically that Dirks breathing and seizures stabilize so that he can proceed with his liver transplant. This is not going to be a short hospital stay or simple journey and your support is so very appreciated.
