With The Meltwaters Film: Exploring Climate Anxiety's Impact
Donation protected
"With The Meltwaters, So Too We Go" is a documentary exploring the profound emotional terrain of communities across the Northeastern & Northwestern US, Subarctic, Nordic, and Alpine regions, where the warming winters and dwindling ice and snow expose the raw edges of climate grief and anxiety. Through personal stories and evocative visuals, the film reveals how anticipatory mourning, cultural erosion, and resilience arise as people confront a changing landscape, inviting a shared call to steward the fragile ecosystems we risk losing.

My name is Sarah Bachinger - I am an EcoArtist, visual storyteller and an independent film maker.
My work work invites contemplations about our place within the global ecological network through themes around species loneliness, nature reverence, reciprocity and kinship. Through my exploration of sci-art collaborations, mixed media, experimental film and photography, and written/spoken word – I strive to create a space for dialogue, reflection, and transformation, ultimately inviting viewers and participants to reevaluate their relationship with the more-than-human world and imagine alternative possibilities for our collective future.
I focus on blurring, reconfiguring and democratizing the boundaries between disciplines, nature and society, and the manifold worlds of humans and more-than humans. The central impetus of this work is to generate dialog around creative, actionable solutions to our planetary crises, and investigate methods and means of moving towards the Symbiocene.
While new to film, I have been developing my visual language for over 20 years as a professional photographer. My work in this field has laid the foundations for a deep understanding of composition, lighting, and forming intimate and trusting collaborations and relationships with her subjects. I am excited to expand her skills, visual storytelling and aesthetics into the world of film and contributing the stories she highlights to the Documentary genre.
