Dirty Dan - A Documentary on Bike Packer Daniel Connell
Donation protected
Everwonder what it would be like to bike from Goleta to Columbia? From the Canadian border to the Mexico border? From Egypt to South African? Meet Daniel Connell, who has done these amazing bike rides plus more! Daniel is a Santa Barbara local and a UCSB graduate who spends his time working at the Channel Islands and a local bike shop. When off the clock, you can find him training in beautiful trails and mountains that Santa Barbara offers or wherever the next race takes him. This documentary will not only explore the adventures Daniel has done, but the impact he wants to make on the community in Santa Barbara and around the world through the act of biking.
Who is on the team?
We are a team of UC Santa Barbara student filmmakers enrolled in the GreenScreen program, a project-based, experiential environmental media production class. The academic backgrounds of our team are diverse, ranging from environmental studies to film and media studies. With a diverse range of academic knowledge and experience with filmmaking, our team plans on telling the story of Daniel Connell with all that he has done in the bike community and the environment. How can you help?
We would be very grateful for any donations, as they will enable us to adapt this significant subject for the big screen. The budget will be going toward transportational needs, food for the interviewees, equipment, insurance, and for festival costs.
If you are unable to donate, you can still support the film by sharing our GoFundMe!
Thank you for your support!
