disability transport for Steven

Hi, my name is Judy

I am Steven's mother and i would like to tell you a bit about Steven . Steven was born with a condition called Trisomy 13.

I was told he would not live past infancy but he fought the odds and 36 years later, my boy is proving just how strong he is

Steven walked into hospital with a broken arm, almost died on the table due to aspiration several times, he spent 5 months in hospital fighting for his life then came home in a wheelchair 2 years ago

life has been very hard for both of us.

With help from physio and hard work for me we are still not sure if he will ever fully walk on his own again,

we have made a lot of improvement to Steven's health with ongoing therapy, unfortunatly with transport not being available through the NDIS, only the modifications to accomodate the wheelchair into a van is available through them, but the vechicle can be no older than 7 years.

Our aim is to raise enough funds to purchase a suitable van for the modifications, unfortunatly the cost of these vans range from $80,000 new to roughly $50,000 second hand.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to improve Steven's quality of life and to get out into community and to attend medical and therapy appointments.
