Who Am I?
My name is Jack and I became disabled in 2010 after being attacked at work in London. Due to the attack I was left completely paralysed down my left side of my body and I had my left arm amputated above the elbow. However over the year this has not stopped me, I have learnt to live with my disability and adapt both my way of life and my way of doing things. I have been a lover of both boats and Fishing ever since I was a child, growing up with them and enjoying it up until the incident 10 years ago.
What Am I Doing?
I love helping other people with disabilities and I have purchased a 28ft ex trawler. My plan is to rebuild her and adapt her so people with disabilities like mine can be taken out fishing. As you can imagine a full rebuild is not cheap so I am asking the community for help. Luckily a couple of local businesses have offered some parts and supplies but not everything is free. One donation I have received is a hoist to help those in wheelchairs or those who can't get aboard properly. I have paid for the dry mooring until April when all the boats normally get put back into the water. We plan on running her as a CIC and have started the registration process standing as DFA 12918309
What This Would Mean To Me & Others?
This would be a dream come true for me and others. The possibility to give something back and help those who can't do what I can would be amazing. I can't put it into words to be honest with you.
