Disabled Family Devastated by House Fire

My name is Laura and I am fundraising for my dear friend Desi who is like a sister to me. On March 6th 2024 Paul, his disabled wife Desi and their three children lost their home in the Starbeck area of Harrogate England. Their cat died in the fire and all of their belongings have been lost or badly damaged in the devastating house fire.
They moved from Colorado, USA to Harrogate, UK in Autumn 2020. In early 2021 with Desi having seizures and dementia-like symptoms she was diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome ( hEDS ) and Cervical (Spine) Instability. In November 2021 Desi had lifesaving brain and spinal fusion surgery in Leeds UK. It has been a long and difficult recovery in which the family had sacrificed much.
There was a £20,000 ($25,000) shortfall after medical insurance for the expensive surgery, which they paid. In addition Desi needed a hospital bed, a wheelchair and mobility aids. The family were slowly trying to make their home wheelchair and mobility aid accessible when this house fire devastated their lives.
We would like to rally around them at this time and raise funds to ease the burden and stress for their daily essentials and medical needs as they go through this long and difficult journey. It will take many months to clear and fix the damage to their home. There could be a significant amount of time before their insurance releases funds for their home and belongings. This family has been through so much already and any little bit could help make a difference for them, to help get them through this horrific time. Thank you!
