Disabled Navy vet mom and I need help with moving costs

Hi everyone,

My legal name is Miranda Lloyd (I go by Mason), and this gofundme is the last attempt to secure housing before noon on May 31st. Our current apartment complex has refused to renew our lease (we've been in there since 2020 and while they have not given us a concrete reason for the refusal, it's clear they mean to remodel and increase the rent.) The charity we were hoping would be able to assist with move-in costs fell through at the last minute, leaving us scrambling at the last minute to try to pay for the deposit and other fees for the new apartment.

My mom and I are both disabled and neurodivergent, which makes it difficult for her to hold down work and I am exhausting every opportunity to apply for jobs. I have had to drop out of my last semester for my bachelor's degree to try and ensure we get into a new place. Even starting our search at the beginning of April, red tape and other factors have caused us to nearly run out of time. Even though we are essentially a shoe-in for the apartment complex we have applied for, our estimated move-in costs are around $1300. We don't have much money... even with my mom working full time, utilities and other issues have dwindled our finances severely. At this point we have a little over $300 between the two of us.

We know times are tough. But it is ten times harder to get a job and a new place when experiencing homelessness. It's incredibly frustrating to know that we have exhausted every potential resource, even getting a caseworker to assist with paperwork, and it's still not enough to avoid our current situation.
