Navy Vet Stroke Recovery -Help with expenses

Donation protected
Updated 5/31. As of today's date John is in capital area MediLodge now doing intensive rehab and working towards hopefully eventually coming home in the next 6 months to a year. In the meantime as a family we are trying to get the house fixed up in case he never walks again because one of the reasons he had to go back into a nursing home is that the home is not conducive to someone in a wheelchair. It's going to take thousands and thousands to get the bathroom updated at least. He is about 45 minutes from home and I'm going to see him several times a week. I'm struggling to find a job and we are close to losing our water our power and our car. Gas back and forth has become an issue. Well I'm doing what I can to find a job any help would be appreciated to keep our utilities on and the car in our possession. I'm trying my absolute hardest to balance everything. Thank you in advance for any prayers love and assistance you can offer.

Hello my name is Stacie and I am the wife of John Jolley Jr. My husband is a 52-year-old disabled Proud Navy Veteran. On Sunday January 28th at 5:00 a.m. I found him collapsed on the floor unable to speak, unable to move and showing all of the symptoms of a stroke. Our 17 year old son and I were able to get him up enough for me to see his face and as a nurse's aide I was able to recognize the stroke. He was taken by ambulance to our local hospital and then quickly transferred to the University of Michigan where he had a craniotomy within just a few hours of being found. I have spent the last 11 days here at his side while he tries to recover. He is paralyzed on his right side and is unable to speak. The great thing is that he is awake and he knows who he is and he knows who his family is although he is having problems with name recall he realizes that we are his people. He will soon be transferred to some type of rehabilitation facility to start intensive rehab to help him relearn to walk talk eat all of those things. He had to have a stomach g-tube placed for nutrition yesterday because he cannot will not be able to eat enough to maintain his weight. John is also unfortunately a liver transplant candidate and this complicates his treatments as there are certain medications that his body cannot tolerate Etc. we are fortunate that there is a place called Fisher house that has let me stay there while he is recovering but I will soon have to go home and be making the trek back and forth. Due to all of this I have been unable to work the past basically two weeks and the bills are going to start stacking up in fact they already are. We would be so grateful for anybody's help in this matter. We need assistance with gas back and forth to whatever rehabilitation place he will be at for myself and our children to visit, and all of a bunch of other costs that are going to be associated. John will eventually come home and there will be many costs associated with that as well. He will need full-time care. We haven't yet figured out the logistics of that yet whether that will be me or whether that will be an in-home provider that will come in or how that is going to work. I am hopeful to be able to go back to work several days a week at least at some point in the near future. In the meantime we could definitely use some help with associated costs. Even if it's 10 or $15 here or there we are super grateful. I will provide updates here as John progresses. Thank you so much for your consideration. We do ask that if you can't donate please just send us Good vibes and prayers. We appreciate all of this most of all
