Disabled Senior Homeless After Home Auctioned Off

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Nolan Ferguson. I am of no relation to David Semrau, but read his story on Yahoo News yesterday and was moved to drive to Belleville, Il to the Town House Motel and pay for David to have a few more nights in a very modest motel in Belleville, Ill. David is not very coherent and may be suffering some dementia or some other long-standing mental complications. Complicating the matter further is there are no clear contacts to try to organize a concerted effort to get David help. And unfortunately, after speaking to the owner of the motel, they are unwilling to take payments over the phone, nor will they direct people willing to help David to me or anyone else who can facilitate help for David. So, I'm going to do it myself until I can reach someone else willing to take responsibility. I paid for one week of stay for David. So he has a place to stay until Saturday, August 19th at 11:00 a.m. I am hoping this will buy me enough time to find him some sustainable help. David needs food and motel stay as of right now as well as any public services that can help him into a stable home. Each night of Motel is approx $54.00 after tax, but ANY help will be greatly appreciated. Every last penny will go to David's immediate care. Feel free to contact me if you have any information to help or for any questions. https://news.yahoo.com/does-77-old-homeowner-disability-120000630.html

UPDATE!!!!! 8/18/23 :: Hey EVERYONE I wanted to update you on what’s going on. FIRST, THANK YOU EVERYON!!!!!! I have gotten in contact with Dianne Burrelsman and have finally gotten a message to Chuck Wood, both being the good Samaritans helping David for quite a while (both mentioned in the Belleville and Democrat original news article on David). So, now you and I are working with both Diane and Chuck on getting David stable housing together!!!

So for clarification, as I and Diane have agreed, I am distributing funds directly to the Town House Motel at 400 S. Illinois St, Belleville, Il. to cover David’s stay until such time he has alternative and stable housing, once that occurs, any remaining money collected will be distributed directly to David in care of Diane Burrelsman.

Just so everyone is aware, I have already taken the entirety of everyone's
first donations totaling $597 ($619 before Gofundme’s fees), and paid for 11 more days for David ($55 a night) at the Town House Motel, yesterday, THURSDAY AUGUST 17. That payment along with an additional anonymous donor who I learned also stopped by the motel and paid for a week the day before, establishes that David has paid housing at the motel until September 6th at 11:00 a.m. (not to mention all the kind people who are STILL donating to the cause!)

Because driving to Belleville is a bit of a drive for me, and because the motel does not take payments over the phone, I will drive to Belleville every other Thursday or Friday and pay the accumulated donations (next payment August 31 or Sept 1). The only exception will be if alternative housing has been found and large advanced payments wouldn’t make sense. At that point ALL remaining funds as mentioned originally will be donated in its entirety to David Senrau's care with the help and direction of Diane Burrelsman.

Lastly, I will try to add photos of all receipts from the hotel that I have made on everyone’s behalf if anyone wants to check my accounting. Thanks again for everyone’s help! We will reach our goal to get David in a stable living situation, I promise. Thank you again!!!! AND THANK YOU TO THE BELLEVILLE AND DEMOCRAT for bringing more attention to the efforts to get David into stable living conditions.
