Disabled Veteran Senior Citizen find a home

Hi, my name is Joe Frattarola. I am a dis-abled Air Force Veteran, Senior Citizen that has gotten kicked out of my apartment after 20 years! I have been in & out of the Hospital for the first 6 months of this year with medical problems, on Family Medical Leave for over 2 months with NO money coming in & my credit scores took a nosedive. We are also currently 6 months behind on rent and I have over $200,000 in medical bills. I keep hearing about all the illegal immigrants coming into our country getting free housing & free health care and the VA has done NOTHING to help a service member who served their country! The VA says they have programs that no veteran goes homeless. The only thing is that you have to be homeless for them to help you! I applied for their HUD - VESH program and was told that I do not qualify as I am still living in my apartment. I have to put all my furniture in storage, become homeless & they will TRY to find me & my family a place! All of the phone numbers & websites I get from the VA are for "affordable" & low cost housing. I am still working & making too much for those. I am NOT looking for a hand out, just 1 apartment or preferably a foreclosure home we can rent to own.
