This Monday (05/17/2021), my brother died by suicide, leaving me with his funeral arrangements and the guardianship of his son whom he was raising as a single father.
Today (05/20/2021) I received a call a 8:00am telling me that my house was on fire. It was a total loss. We were one week away from moving in - just waiting for water and septic. Just yesterday afternoon we were mowing the grass, planting apple trees, and getting our garden ready. We left to go get pizza and dream about the one good thing we had to look forward to in a disastrous week that started with the death of my brother and my nephew's dad. We talked all night about how we were going to set up bedrooms and the game room, now we have absolutely nothing!
The mobile home insurance company is doing their best to deny coverage, because we hadn't moved in yet and our address wasn't "official", so the underwriters are saying that we won't get any help whatsoever. We only had 5 years left to pay on the house and I took a loan against half of my 401K to move the house from Turtle Mountain to here in Minnesota and get the site ready to move into.
I have lost everything this week.
Anything you can do to help would be appreciated. My life is a disaster and I don't know what to do.
