Help change lives in our Community
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Geoff Cooper, Grandson to Rev. Clyde and Barbara Cooper. My Grandfather started an organization in 2008 named Disciples of Faith Ministries, whose purpose was to help spread both the Word and Love of God and to help meet the needs of people of different communities as a whole in various crisis situations and circumstances.
On December 10th, 2010, My Grandfather suffered a widow maker heart attack which, with being a small organization, slowed things down immensely. We praise God for the survival of the attack. Before he was able to further the progress of the organization
in 2014, he took on more serious health issues, as was my Grandmother physically struggling with mobility conditions beyond her control and are both progressively recovering to this day and due to the setbacks at hand, it was difficult to start where we had left off concerning Disciples of Faith Ministries, although hope was not lost. We held on to the passion within to see Disciples of Faith rectified.
Recently, I have been praying alot about purpose and the passion therein; how life has thrown so many curves, yet not being the only one, how my struggle has led me to feel deeply and pray for others in similar circumstances. Recently our ministry has been able to get help to people who suffer the need, and our goals are being met one after the other.
We are asking that you would help us on our mission to continue our ability to provide in the lives of our communities and see what change is still able to be made in the following areas:
-Building Fund
We are currently in the process of acquiring a physical location. This location will be the home of our Services; Programs; and Outreach which will help us to better serve the surrounding Communities as a result. Though God is blessing us with the ability to reach and provide basic essentials in the lives of those who seek and are in need, this will enable us to broaden the capacity in which we can assist. We are looking to rent a facility and need to have 1 years worth of rent and utilities in order to get started. We will be able to self generate through fund-raisers during the year we begin, but for a kick start to our local ministry, your support is greatly appreciated.
-Benevolence
As poverty climbs to an all time high, God is continuously leading us across the paths of those in need. He is faithful in providing such needs, but we are limited on what we can do on our own as an organization. 100% of your donation will be used to provide assistance to the less fortunate of our communities concerning:
Overdue Utilities (Provided shut-off notice is shown)
Transportation Assistance for Health and Government Appointments
Grocery Gift Certificates
Disability Assistance
Elderly Assistance
Medical Aid
All payments will be made directly to creditor and receipts will be provided for our records and for yours.
Your support is greatly needed and appreciated.
-Shut-In Ministry
We believe that people in shut-ins are just like us. They desire the consideration of a friend; the visit of a loved one; even the friendly conversation of a stranger. Sometimes a visit from the outside can make all the difference in the attitude of those stuck inside, and the hope they are able to obtain. We are continuously working on our ministry which is dedicated to visiting and ministering to places such as:
Jails/Prisons
Nursing Homes
Hospitals
Orphanages
On-call Home-Based Ministerial Visits to the Widowed
100% of funds donated will go toward the transportation and preparation for everything our trips entail. Your support will help us visit more often and to a wider variety of locations on a continuous basis. It will also help us provide to the needs of those we come in contact with during these meetings. We thank you for your care and concern, and appreciate your donation.
-Missions Trips
Mark 16:15King James Version (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
There are people in every part of this world who are ignorant to the fact that Jesus has set them free, and that His blood has been shed for their healing. They remain captive to the idol worship and poverty; famines and droughts; having been objects of wrath rather than knowing God's grace. Our heart is to go into as many places as we can to spread the Word and Love of Jesus so that they too can share in and know the hope to which they have been called!
We need funds for tickets, food, shelter, building, pre-health care as well as post-health care for our missionaries.
-Open Donations
Your donations are greatly appreciated. Your open donation will be dispursed as it is needed the most. 100% of your donation will be for community outreach and the purpose of benefiting our organizations growth. Thank you for your consideration and may God bless you as you help us add action to our faith! Also, if you do not have a home church and would like to pay tithes, you may provide it to our ministry under this section. We believe that you are to tithe to a ministry that feeds your spiritual needs. If you feel this way about our ministry you are welcome to become more involved. Check out our fb page at www.facebook.com/disciplesoffaithministries and see how to contact us.
IF YOU DONATE: PLEASE SPECIFY THE FUND YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE TO.
Again, I cannot express the depth of need and gratitude for the support to be given. The Lord will bless those who bless us and those who bless you.
I have a faith that my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.
I have to believe that we will gain support and continue the mission to better our community and hopefully move forward to change the world. I still believe in making a difference, but I can't do it alone.
Nothing can describe what this means to me besides the very scripture itself
(James 2:14-17: What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.).
This was my Grandparents' passion, and as a congratulations to their mission to full recovery; to show them I am thankful for them and the value they add to my life; and my deep desire to see NO ONE exerience what I have in regard to oppression and poverty. I have a prayer for those who have it worse than I, that they be blessed in my service to the Lord because of what I have experienced, that they may have life in abundance, I want to add works to my faith and obey my God.
My thanksgiving for this matter will be to Jesus for helping me follow Him, and to those of you who share the same mission to see and help create change.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my request and may you be blessed also in the Lord.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
