What is Disinfect Connect?
Disinfect Connect is a platform that connects local distilleries producing hand sanitizer with verified, at-risk populations in need. Our team sources hand sanitizer and facilitates local connections so that nursing homes, assisted living facilities, first responders, and hospitals can be sure of a secure supply.
Why Do We Need Help?
Disinfect Connect is rapidly growing, we are currently connecting distilleries to organizations that represent over 55,000 individuals. With more requests received every day we are struggling to fulfill orders, while continuing to verify new users. Our small team of volunteers is working around the clock, but we require more assistance to continue growing towards our goal of serving as many people as we can that need hand sanitizer.
Why Did We Start Disinfect Connect?
On March 21st our founder, Miles Pepper, discovered that his grandmother’s nursing home was only 4 days away from depletion of hand sanitizer with no hope of sourcing an adequate supply in time. He decided that this was not acceptable. After only 72 hours in its existence, Disinfect Connect was able to serve Miles’s grandmother’s nursing home hand sanitizer and keep the lives of the staff and residents safe. Local Sonoma County newspaper, The Press Democrat, covered the story.
How Does Disinfect Connect Work?
Hand sanitizer is precious during these times and facilities that need it the most are struggling to obtain it. Changes in legislation now allow distilleries to produce sanitizer and supplement the supply. The two parties simply need to be connected.
Disinfect Connect provides an online platform for organizations serving the at-risk population to easily contact distilleries and get the hand sanitizer they need. All platform members are verified as high priority organizations and are further sorted by location, urgency, facility type and size. This organization allows recipients to send requests to verified distilleries that can most effectively meet their needs. The result is a wide distribution of hand sanitizer to high priority facilities and a more concise distribution platform for distilleries that have been inundated with requests.
