Disney Cast Member Relief Fund
I am a former Disneyland Resort cast member (1998-2000). My time at the Magic Kingdom are still some of the best cherished times of my life. I still have friends who are with the park to this day who are feeling the worst of this crisis and have been displaced since the park shut down. There's no end in sight and everyone is nervous. Many CMs who I have spoken to are NOT even receiving unemployment payments which are now over three months due! This is unbelievable to me!
Cast members went to work every day to put on a specific show for we the guests. They aren't just anybody in those costumes and behind those name tags. They smiled and were helpful, some went out of their way to make our children feel special, some went above and beyond to make sure you went home with a magical memory. Cast lives matter. Cast members have children too. Can we give a little back to the ones who made it their duty to create the countless pleasant memories and facilitated feelings of nostalgia for so many of us. They have been there for us for years and in this short time of crisis, can we be there for them?
I have found 5 worthy families that I would like to raise $1000 each for to bring a bit of relief and most of all remind them that they aren't forgotten and we will be excited to once again see their smiling eyes above their now mandatory masks when the park reopens.
This support is personal to me and, if you've ever been to Disneyland, I hope you'll take a moment to think about why it should be personal to you.
You are doing something good for other good people and I am forever grateful for your help! Will you contribute?
