Displaced Children in Congo celebrate Chirstmas
Donation protected
In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a civil war is raging as armed militias engage in a violent conflict.
The Goma displacement camp, in the North Kivu province of DRC, is now home to hundreds of thousands of people – men, women and children who have had to flee their homes in search of safety.
Life for the camp inhabitants is a struggle. Conditions are unsanitary, and access to food, clean water and health care is limited.
For children, the conditions are particularly hard. We at the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) in DRC want to bring them a little joy at Christmas. We hope to buy food, clothes and toys, and to have a Santa Claus in the camp to distribute gifts and take pictures with the children. We will stay and play games with them on the day, so that they have a happy and memorable experience.
Even a small donation would go a long way to help us bring the spirit of Christmas to the children in Goma Camp. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
