UPDATE: Last Friday (March 15th) I did my surgery and thank God it was a success. Now I'm recovering and taking pain medications. The next phase will be physiotherapy and I am very motivated to start that. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this surgery being carried out.

Hello and thank you for visiting my page. I appreciate your support, whether that be sharing my story, a kind word or donating to my surgery.
My name is Matheus Camilo and I am a 23-year-old professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter from Rio Branco, Brazil.
My MMA journey began at the age of 13 through a community program called Looking for the Next Champion. The program aimed at keeping youth off the streets of my neighborhood. I first learned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing which quickly progressed and broadened my interests in MMA. By the age of 16, I knew MMA was my passion in life, and I wanted to pursue my passion further in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. With the support of my mother and father and the agreement that I graduate school, my parents agreed to let me go to Rio De Janeiro. Eager to train in Rio De Janeiro, I graduated school early at the age of 16 and left for Rio De Janeiro. Here, I trained for three years, before pursuing my dream further by visiting and training in the United States. In 2021, I moved to the United States, and started training MMA at Xtreme Couture. I quickly found myself spending my entire days there training, learning and developing my skills further alongside some of the top athletes in the world. I have dedicated my life to my passion, and dream of one day becoming a champion.
Sadly, a few weeks ago, I injured my distal bicep tendon while assisting a teammate preparing for his upcoming fight and suffered a complete full-thickness tear of my distal bicep tendon. I must now undergo emergency surgery to repair the tear to prevent the loss of strength and movement in my arm. Unfortunately, I am not able to cover the cost of the surgery. I am asking for your help to keep my dream alive. My surgery is scheduled for Thursday, March 7th. After which, I will be out of the gym for several months recuperating and completing physical therapy to regain my strength and mobility so I can return to MMA.
Thank you all for your love and support. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story and being a part of my life's journey.
Sincerely,
Matheus Camilo.
