Dive Paradise COVID-19 Employee Relief Fund
Donation protected
Dear Friends of Dive Paradise,
As many of you know, Isaias and I have been longtime friends of Dive Paradise in Cozumel, MX. Like the rest of the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought the scuba diving industry in Cozumel and our beloved Dive Paradise to a screeching halt. Suddenly, the dedicated staff of divemasters, instructors, boat captains, mates and sales & support staff are all left without the trip-based wages and tips that they rely on to survive.
The Dive Paradise crew has been through a lot in the last couple of years, beginning with the untimely death of longtime owner Renee “Apple” Applegate. As time has passed, a renewed sense of camaraderie and optimism has once again permeated the crew, with longtime employees expressing confidence and enthusiasm, boats being freshly painted, and with a busy high-season in full swing. There was a feeling of Dive Paradise gaining momentum again ... then the pandemic hit!
Now is the time for all of us to step up and help our Dive Paradise family-in-need. Any amount that you are able to donate during this difficult time will go directly to Dive Paradise's employees, to help them remain safe and healthy during this crisis. This same family will be ready to welcome you back to YOUR “home” in Cozumel when travel resumes! Any funds remaining once the crisis has past will be donated directly to those charities which Dive Paradise has long-supported.
We are confident that the company has a bright future on the other side of this and simply need your help. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Debbie and Isaias Alamilla
