Diventures supporting divers during COVID-19

One thing that makes a great scuba dive trip are the local dive teams who work so hard to ensure we all have an incredible vacation. We see how hard the dive masters, boat crews, and all the other support staff work to make our vacations amazing. The couple of hours we spend with them underwater is only a small part of their job. There is a lot of hard, physical work happening during the rest of their workday. It’s normal for a disproportionate amount of their income to be dependent upon tips. Tips happen when divers are having a great time diving.

Due to COVID-19 and the lack of tourism revenue, dive shops have been shut down and these hard-working people have been out of work since March and will be at least until travel restrictions are lifted! 

We understand that everyone is experiencing the effects of COVID-19. But the rough waters will pass and when we can return to our favorite dive destinations, we want to see our dive shops and their incredible dive team welcome us back with big smiles and ready to dive! In order to help preserve the world of diving that we know and cherish, we have to come together as a diving community and lend a helping hand. It’s now our turn to provide surface interval support for them! We are asking for your help to take care of those who regularly take care of us.

Whatever you can give is greatly appreciated, whether it’s the cost of a cup of coffee, what you might spend on a restaurant dinner, or what you’d tip for a week of great diving. It all helps! We’ve worked with each of the dive shops listed below, to ensure all donations go directly to the over 95 dive staff at these shops. The very 95 people who ensure you have a great vacation and have now been out of work for six weeks.

Our friends need help now. If we can raise $50,000 by Friday, May 8, Diventures will match that and make a $50,000 donation.
