Diver Dan Lahaina Fire Relief Fund

Aloha, my name is Dan Shaffer, you may know me as "Diver Dan". I moved to Maui over 45 years ago to teach scuba diving at local resorts and I stayed because of my love for this island and the people who live here. I raised my daughter here in Lahaina and have built a life. Over the years, I built my businesses, "Kaanapali Ocean Adventures" and "Diver Dan Specialty Charters" from the ground up.

In the recent Lahaina fires, I lost almost everything. I raced to try to salvage anything I could but to no avail. In these pictures, you can see my boat for the business completely destroyed, my car that was consumed by flames on Front Street in downtown Lahaina, as well as my truck that I was unable to reach through the flames.

From the moment I could after the fire, I began captaining boats around the island to deliver supplies to those in need. I worked side by side with my daughter to deliver food, fuel, water, etc. to as many people as we could. I am continuing to do so but would appreciate the help to allow me to recoup some losses and begin to rebuild. Mahalo.
