Diversify Our Narrative PYL

DiversifyOurNarrative Placentia Yorba Linda is a chapter of a non profit dedicated to promoting equity, diversity, and racial justice within the PYLUSD school district since 2020.

Over the past two years, we have worked to support the implementation of Ethnic/ Multicultural Studies, ask the district to increase BIPOC representation within the curriculum, and most recently, oppose the Critical Race Theory ban.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the work, we have received backlash from members of the community. Although we have received numerous verbal attacks through social media, most recently, our fundraiser was canceled.

The fundraiser was canceled due to people calling the restaurant that would hold our fundraiser, threatening to protest. For safety reasons, the restaurant had to cancel the fundraiser.

Besides activism work, DON PYL plans to hold free community events such as workshops and volunteering based activities. We also want to use our funds to provide quality resources for fellow students that relate to our mission.
