Albinism Crisis Outreach Uganda

UPDATE:
We're launching a 'Back to School' campaign over the Christmas to support ACO (Albinism Crisis Outreach) cover the costs of school essentials needed in the new year for children and young people (two young girls with albinism were awarded a Government scholarship which covered their universities fees!) such as school books, stationary, suncreams, protective clothing, and academic field trips. We'll be sharing more on the Diversity Matters blog soon! www.diversity-matters.org.uk/aco
Here's a link to our 'Albinism Crisis Outreach' festive season campaign, music by Ije Amaechi filmed during our ACO fundraiser in March, alongside images from our trip to Uganda in June =>> https://youtu.be/9qHSxs3ytUw
Please donate however much you can for the ACO 'Back to School' essentials supporting Lydia (attending university), Docas and Mary (primary school) and Fridah's 4 children Ivan, Allan, Kato, and Joan.
Thank you for your support!

Update:
14th June 2017 marked a significant milestone towards empowering people with albinism in Uganda! By supporting Albinism Crisis Outreach (ACO), through this GoFundMe campaign (we raised £420 by June 2017), we were able to sponsor the International Albinism Awareness Day (IAAD) event providing donations of sun creams (90 bottles), women and childrens clothing, event banners and security during IAAD march and distribute AfriPads during workshops organised.
Our support for ACO is ongoing. We're focused on fundraising to supporting various ACO projects;
- empowerment workshops for persons with albinism
- school supplies for young persons with albinism
- community outreach projects
- production of sun creams made by ACO
- production of detergents to support outreach projects.
Please donate however much you can to support a great cause. We'll keep you posted in our updates section with pictures, various projects and breakdown of expenditure.
Thank you!

Inspired by my trip with #ThumbsUpForUganda donating aid to those in need in December 2016 (CLICK HERE for more), I'm heading back to Uganda this summer to support Albinism Crisis Outreach (ACO) help some of the most marginalised and stigmatised people in East African communities.
International Albinism Awareness Day is on the 13th June, and it's with a humble heart that I'll be using my platform Diversity Matters Beyond Borders to work closely with Doreen Nawejje - a truly selfless and inspirational role model and founder of Albinism Crisis Outreach.
As well as distributing essential items to children and young people with albinsim, I'll be facilitating Diversity Matters Beyond Borders workshops for community engagement and awareness. Plus, as usual I'll also be documenting the trip so keep an eye out on the Diversity Matters Facebook page for videos !
We need your SUPPORT!
All money donated will go towards buying essential items requested by Albinism Crisis Outreach; sun protection creams (SPF50+), hats, sunglasses, protective clothing for children and teenagers, sanitary ware/hygine products. The money will also be used to help pay for school fees of children and vocational training for girls.
If you're London-based and would like to donate any of the items listed above, please get in touch before the 8th June for collection!
This is an ongoing campaign. Please share in your networks.
Thank you for your support - love, peace and light!
