Diversity of Duet
This is my 10th year living in the U.S. I've decided to celebrate my musical journey with my wonderful and talented friends! I've always felt fortunate and well loved by friends and colleagues- that's a big reason for me to keep walking on this unpaved but beautifully musical road.
All of the pieces in this concert are meaningful to me; as I find significance in both the repertoire and the people I'm collaborating with. As the title suggests, the focus of this performance is duet! Traditional duet will be featured, along with the exploration of several human/computer duets, two pianos with two percussionists, and a piano/saxophone duet.
I will be featuring Bay Area pianist Anne Rainwater, percussionist Diego Becerra, saxophonist Claire Phillips, San Diego based pianist Vicky Weiyi Xu, and Bay area percussionist Jack Van Geem.
Together we will be performing works by Bill Dobbins, Leslie La Barre, Nicolai Kapustin, Ryan Rey, and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
My goal is to raise $1700 to cover the numerous costs involved, but ANY donation is greatly appreciated no matter how large or small. For example, a $25 donation would help cover the cost of promotional material, while $100 will help compensate our talented performers. All funds will be divided between venue rental, show preparation, piano usage, and performers compensation. All donors who contribute $50 or above will receive two complimentary tickets for the concert!
Besides making a financial donation, you could help me by spreading the word and encouraging your friends, family, or students to come out and enjoy this special evening. Thank you!
