Dixie Pace, Grady&April Pace Daughter Frank&Ruth
Donation protected
As many of you know from the Piedmont area, Frank and Ruth Pace have helped our community by donating and raising money for our needy children's Christmas fund for over 20 years. They and their son Grady have helped with many fundraising events or donated to others needing assistance over the years. Their daughter/granddaughter, Dixie, started having seizures at the young age of 7 years old. She is now 26 years old, but due to all the medical issues and medication, her mental state is that of a 14-year-old. Her parents, Grady and April, have taken her to MUSC and other medical locations for many treatments, testing and medication, all to no avail for answers for recovery. About 15 months ago, she became psychotic, and her family is still without answers on how to help her. Most days, she and her mom must stay home to keep her safe. She has missed out on most pleasures most of us take for granted, like riding a bike, having friends, going on dates, having a social life or having a job. The next step for her and her family is going to The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The Mayo Clinic has treatment they believe will help her. But, the problem is she only has Medicaid, and they will not cover this treatment. They will be gone for approximately two months and need funds for Dixie's hospital stay, treatment and expenses. To begin the treatment and test, they must pay between $5,000.00 and $8,000.00, plus other fees and living expenses while out of state. I am reaching out to our community to come alongside us and give back to The Pace family of FGS Hardwear in Piedmont, SC family for their many years of service to our area. Thank you in advance for your help, and please get in touch with me if you have any questions. Please keep Dixie and her family in your prayers.
