Dixie’s memorial & family fund

At only 24 years old, Dixie Ruiz was full of life. She had so many plans for her future with her soulmate & loving fiancée, Ethan. She was just starting to build her life & it was everything she wanted & more.

Unfortunately, that all came to a screeching halt when Dixie was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in August of 2023. She had gone to doctor after doctor for pelvic pain & was told time and again that they could not find a reason. Eventually, one of the doctors took her complaints seriously & sent her off for further testing. It was at that time that a large tumor was discovered on her ovary & was eventually diagnosed as Cancer. Her medical team worked quickly to remove the 23lb tumor & begin her chemotherapy & radiation. Dixie’s treatment was complete after 6 months in February & she started to begin her recovery. She & her family immediately celebrated her new status! She was now a SURVIVOR!!

However, their celebration came to a devastating end when it was discovered that only 4 months later, her cancer had returned. Not only was there another tumor found, this time it had spread & Dixie’s health started to decline rapidly. She was in and out of the ICU over just a short month or so trying to remove the fluids in her abdomen in order to give her the strength she needed to undergo another round of surgery, chemotherapy & radiation.

Dixie wasn’t fortunate enough to make it far enough to start her treatment.

On Friday, June 21st, Dixie fainted at her home & her fiancée called for help immediately.

After being rushed to the hospital via ambulance, it was discovered that Dixie had a large pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in her lung) & she needed to have a procedure immediately. After the procedure, Dixie did not wake up & it seemed that she did not have any brain activity. 24 hours later, Dixie had passed away.

At 24, Dixie was full of life. Yet, she was never given the chance to live a full life. The cancer had won & her family was left devastated, lost & unsure of how to pick up the pieces.

Now, they need our help!
Please consider donating to help her family pay for a funeral as well as fly her ashes, father & fiancée home.
