Sammie’s Journey to Recovery

Hi my name is Jennifer and I’m creating this

page to help support my friends Renee &

Thierry as they will be travelling to Sick Kids in June 2022 so their son, Samuel can undergo

his second open heart surgery.

I’ve known Renee for over 20 years and she is a person with a BIG heart and has always been there for me. I’m especially grateful for her

being apart of my children’s lives. Renee

always dreamed of being a mom herself. I

knew she would make a wonderful mom and

that happened for her shortly after she met

Thierry and in February 2020 Samuel was

born. Samuel was their miracle baby.

Samuel’s heart defect was discovered on the

same day they were getting ready to be

discharged from the hospital from a failing a

simple oxygen test. As a result they spent the

next 2.5 months at Sick Kids

preparing and undergoing and recovering from open heart surgery and also told Samuel

would need a second surgery in the next

couple of years.

So here we are and my friends are leaving in a

few weeks, in June 2022 to go back to Sick

Kids where Sammie will have his second heart

surgery scheduled in July. They are planning

on staying a minimum of 3 weeks if there are

no complications. ( Praying for that!)

So far I know costs for accommodations are

$3900. I’m hoping to raise enough money to

cover immediate expenses including,

accommodations, travel and food. I would also like to assist my friends as they will be taking

time off their jobs to help Sammie recover for a

minimum of 6 weeks.

Let’s help alleviate some of the financial
