Kanon Edwards Medical Bills
Donation protected
On November 24th, Kaci and Garet Edwards rushed 8 month old Kanon to his doctor in Enid thinking he had a tummy bug. He was severely dehydrated and after twelve hours of poking, nurses still couldn’t find a vein. He was then transferred to OU Medical center where he was diagnosed with HUS (Hemolytic Uremic Syndrom). HUS is the most common cause of acute kidney failure in infants. Kanon has had blood transfusions and remains on dialysis. He suffered a blood clot in his neck November 27th and is currently undergoing surgery to his abdomen to create a new insertion point for dialysis. Doctors are not sure how long Kanon will remain in ICU as it could still be several weeks. The medical bills are expected to be in the tens of thousands even after insurance and both parents will have to take off of work to be with him. Kanon has a big sister Kate who has been anxiously awaiting his return to health. He is a strong little boy and will continue to fight so that he can spend his first Christmas at home! Kaci and Garet would never ask for money, but if we can all pitch in, this would take a huge weight off of their shoulders. As parents, it's extremely hard for them to see their child go through this and money should be the last thing to worry about. Any donations toward medical bills would be greatly appreciated by Kanon and his family!
