Larry's Medical Fund

Larry was diagnosed in 2002 with lymphatic cancer and during the treatment process the chemotherapy ended up damaging his heart. He has been in congestive heart failure ever since and there have been many ups and downs including surgeries, medicines and being added to the heart transplant list in 2013. Last week, he took a turn for the worse and was sent to Tuffs Medical Center in Boston, MA where it was identified that he needed a LVAD (mechanical heart) surgery. This is a lifesaving surgery which will help him until he is able to get a heart transplant. Many times people on the heart transplant list can wait a long time for a new heart, but he and his family and are optimistic that they will get the call that there is a match. It is a long road to recovery and his ability to work will be limited during this time, which will add a financial burden on him and his family. The medical expenses continue to grow and there are travel costs for his family needing to make routine trips to Boston. The money donated here will go towards Larry’s medical expenses and other expenses that relate to that travel. For those of you who know Larry, being with his family means everything to him. He has raised five children and recently adopted his 3 year old granddaughter. So he is very hopeful that he will be able to come home soon and be with his family again.
