DJ's Lasting Love: Help with Funeral Costs

To know Daijahney Mitchell is to be blessed in your life; she cared like no other and loved even harder. Her life was characterized by a few words: love, care, and beauty.
DJ took her last breath on December 21st, and with that, the world has lost a bright light. For most of her life, DJ was fighting a hard battle with a rare type 1 Diabetes , which saw her being in and out of hospitals. Her diagnosis took a big part of her, but she lived life to the fullest despite that. She went on to fall in love with an amazing man, Tony Banks, and had a beautiful baby boy, Santana Banks, who is currently 8 months old. She also went on to become a wonderful medical assistant who brought joy to every patient she interacted with. Unfortunately, due to her rare type of diabetes, her insurance did not cover many of her medical expenses, leaving her family burdened with the cost, and now they are burdened with the expenses of her funeral services and planning for the life of Santana.
DJ took care of everyone around her and did it till her last day, especially her mom, Daisy-Marie. When she takes you in, she will hug you tight, and her presence will never let go. She would come into a room and make everyone feel safe. She would start talking, and her laugh would make everyone smile. If DJ saw your struggle, she would fill you with the love and strength to keep going. Even when her own health took her physical strength, she persisted through her love.
Her care and love for others shined through in the characters of her siblings, Aramaneisha, Armand, Rufus, Brittney, Chris, and Armonèt, who continue to keep DJ's love for others alive in their actions. DJ is felt in everything we do. When we cook, we remember the plates she made to feed all of us. When we smile, we remember her dimples. When we work, we remember her work ethic that took care of everyone in every aspect of her life. And when we love, we remember her by the ultimate love she gave us and the world. We remember DJ in everything and see her in her baby boy, especially when he smiles and we see her dimples.
To talk about DJ would take days and even years, as everyone has a story, an adventure, and an experience with her beautiful soul. Now it is time for all of us to do what she has done for many of us: take care of loved ones when they need us. Donate and share this with your community.
