On July 12th, my sister Marissa and her young children were involved in a tragic accident caused by a drunk driver. While we are incredibly grateful that my nephews emerged physically unharmed, Marissa sustained severe injuries. She broke both bones in her wrist on her dominant arm, which required surgery and numerous hospital visits. Doctors are now considering a second surgery, adding to the family's stress.
Marissa is a stay-at-home mom, and her injuries have made it impossible for her to care for her children, home, and pets as she usually does. Her husband has had to take significant time off work to support her and drive her to medical appointments. As a result, they are struggling to pay their bills.
To make matters worse, their car was totaled in the accident. The insurance will not cover the full loan on the car, forcing them to sell their second vehicle and become a one-car family. They are uncertain how they will afford a new car or manage daily transportation needs.
This accident has come at an especially challenging time. Marissa’s husband had just started a new job and was settling into his new role when this tragedy struck. The family is now facing immense physical, emotional, and financial burdens.
We are reaching out to our community for support. Any contribution, big or small, will help cover medical expenses, daily living costs, and transportation needs. Your generosity will allow Marissa and her family to focus on healing and recovery.
Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.
